Critiques
I like the anatomy in this work, along with the pose, they are both very nice. The expression is spot on as well. The colour scheme works great and has great unity. I like the subtle use of detailed and slightly varied lines to define the shape. The level of detail is great too. I love the use of cool shading on the white and black. It keeps the character neutral.
The Bad:
I see a misconception of value and form. There are just a few lighting inconsistencies, is what I mean. I mentioned how I liked the cool shading, but the red pants have a warmer shading, and it is distracting because it jumps out at you, and probably isn't meant to be the visual focus of the piece. The character looks barely grounded and still as though its floating.
Vision:
I don't get a message or a point to this. It just is a character, this isn't a bad thing, but when rating the vision behind the piece I have to say it isn't exactly visionary.
Originality:
Where it lacks in vision it makes up in originality, even though its just a character drawing, it has a great bit of personality. You have a knack for infusing your personality into all your drawings.
Technique:
As I mentioned there are inconsistencies in the placement of shades. This is looked over though because your use of the medium is stunning, and it shows your proficiency in your craft. The shades and highlights look BEAUTIFUL, just kind of misplaced.
Impact:
This piece will probably fade from my memory, even though I like it I feel that it does not have much staying power. I great picture for someone to look at, learn a bit from, but ultimately move on to more "finished" deviations.
Didn't Read:
7/10 Good job even if kinda forget able, look to creating a more final piece next time
